Codex Tops 5 Million Weekly Users — Non-Developer "Knowledge Workers" Now 20% of the Base

OpenAI announced that Codex's weekly active users have surpassed 5 million, a sixfold jump since the desktop app launched. Use by knowledge workers outside of software development — for reports and documents — now makes up a fifth of usage and is growing three times faster than developer usage.
